Kefalonia

I have (most unfortunately) just arrived back from Kefalonia after the most fabulous two weeks! Weather was absolutely perfect, food was amazing and the whole fortnight was generally incredibly relaxing.

We spent three days travelling the island and got to visit one the most photographed places on the island; Myrtos Beach.

The place really is as beautiful as it looks and the sea is so clear, it was like paradise.

The thing I love most about Greece is the cuisine and out there I tried the most amazing dish; Kefalonian Bekri Meze. This is beef cooked in a Robola wine, cream, peppercorn and nutmeg sauce served with rice and I kid you not it was the most amazing thing I've ever tasted. I'd love to share the particular recipe but the chef was keeping the family recipe under wraps!

My favourite moment of the fortnight however had to be seeing wild turtles in the capital, Argostoli, I couldn't believe how big they are!
