Hard.

I haven't written in a while, I've been out of sorts as it were.

I'm scared that I might be slipping back into that state of mind I was in three years ago. The argument we had the other week almost sent me back to square one, almost, I didn't quite get there but it was close. I might be at square 2 or 3. And I hate you for it. And I hate the fact I have to see you all the time, there is no escape in this tiny place we live in.

I wish you'd understand the idea that you can't have your cake and eat it. You chose to stay where you were. It doesn't mean you get me as well. Please let me be, and let me forget about you, stop trying to hold on to what you want but can't have. Instead of saying the things you know will work on me, just leave it now.

Yum Yum Yum!

Just wanted to share a little recipe I found in a supermarket magazine. So easy and so so so scrummy! Much better than curries from a jar:

Ingredients
  • 2 tbsp sunflower oil
  • 2 onions, peeled and sliced
  • 4 garlic cloves, peeled and crushed
  • 5cm root ginger, peeled and chopped
  • 2 green chillies, de-seeded and chopped
  • 1 tbsp ground coriander
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric
  • 450g chicken breast, diced
  • 10 tomatoes, diced
  • 150g natural yoghurt
  • 120g fresh spinach leaves
  • 1 tsp garam masala
Method
  • Heat the oil in a large pan and add the onion, garlic, ginger, chillies, coriander and turmeric. Fry for 2 mins then at the chicken pieces.
  • Cook until chicken is sealed and takes on a little colour, then add the tomatoes. Cover and cook for 20 mins.
  • Turn off the heat and stir in yoghurt, spinach and garam masala. Stir well, cover and allow to stand for 5 mins. Stir again- spinach will have wilted by now.
  • Serve curry with freshly cooked basmati rice and fresh coriander

In The Nude

I know, I know, this is yet another shoe post but I feel the need to discuss my favourite favourite favourite shoes; nude. Nude shoes remind me a little of ice skaters when they wear the tan/nude tights and boots; it just makes their legs seem to go on for eternity and I think it is the same with nude shoes; they can't help but make your legs look incredibly long. And not only that but, like black shoes, they are incredibly versatile and pull together many an outfit.

Of course it is anyone's dream (or the reality of the rich and famous) to own Louboutins. And his nude platform peep toes really are to die for.

'Lady Peep' ($895) Christian Louboutin

However, the high-street has really upped its game in recent years and there are some fabulous alternatives out there:

Contrast Peep Wedge (£24.99) New Look
Light Pink Peep Toe Studded Heel Shoe (£75.00) River Island

Minted Court Nude Patent (£65.00) Office
Eleanor (£130) Kurt Geiger

Okay, no more shoe posts....until I next fall in love with some shoes...probably in five minutes time!

Autumn Days

As much as I dislike to admit it, autumn is beginning to approach us; the nights are getting longer and I've started wearing the beautiful new jacket I've purchased from Zara to work in the mornings (one bonus of the oncoming winter season!).

However, it has got me thinking about packing away all my summer clothes and focusing on my winter wardrobe, in particular, footwear. (But being a UK size 2½ poses particular problems in this department, trying to get pretty shoes is an absolute nightmare!) I have been able to find these little beauties in my size, now all I have to decide is which ones to buy:

Autumn is also a season that takes me back to my childhood, although there was always the fact I had to go back to school, it also meant collecting conkers, kicking up all the leaves, bonfires and snuggling up on the couch with my Dad under the duvet. And this autumn you will still find me clinging on to my childhood, kicking up all the leaves in the park.
